You cannot call yourself a diving enthusiast before visiting the best diving sites in Bali. It is not a secret that Bali has one of the most beautiful marine life ecosystems in the world and there are so many beautiful things you can see once you dive your head into the water. So, if you have any plan to go diving this holiday, make sure you include Bali in your bucket list and go visit these ethereal diving spots.
Menjangan Island might not be the most popular diving location in Bali but it doesn’t mean that it is not worth visiting. The only reason of its slightly less popularity is because its location in the Northeastern part of Bali is a little bit more remote compared to the other diving site. But when it comes to beauty and attraction, this tiny and secluded island wins in so many aspects.
There are two well-known diving locations in this island—Pos 2 and Eel Garden. Pos 2 might be a little crowded in high season but it doesn’t have strong current hence perfect for beginners. Furthermore, the underwater life is dominated by beautiful giant gorgonians. If you are ready to go to a more challenging spot, Eel Garden is the place for you. Just like what the name suggests, if you dive a little bit deeper, you can find so many species of eels from moray eels to garden eels, not to mention the colorful fishes and exquisite soft corals.
If you are a marine life photographer, Pemuteran is definitely one of the best diving sites in Bali you should visit. This diving location is famous with its biggest biorock reef site in the entire world. Moreover, people love diving here because the water is calm and clear all year long. Even though you come at rainy season, the visibility under water is still better compared to other diving spot in this island.
The most popular diving site in Pemuteran is called Secret Bay. If your purpose to go diving is to witness unique fishes and water animals swimming around you, Pemuteran is a heaven for you. Here, you can find so many cute sea horses, nudibranchs as well as mandarin fishes, the main attraction of this place.
The best diving spot in Nusa Penida is called Crystal Bay but this spot is more suitable for experienced diver. This crystal clear water will give such a treat to your eyes, a memory that you will remember forever. If you are a certified advanced diver, you can go deeper to about 30 meter underwater and if you are lucky, you will be able to spot a very shy mola-mola fish that you cannot find in less deeper water.
You can also visit Manta Point to witness the rare Manta Rays fish. Just be careful because the current is pretty strong in this area so don’t come here unless you have plenty of diving experience. Once you go underwater, you definitely will understand why Nusa Penida is called as one of the best diving sites in Bali.
